Happy August!
We hope everyone had a fun-filled and safe summer this year! The doctors and team also took time to vacation and spend time with their family and friends. In April we had to say goodbye to Marcia as she decided that yoga and retirement sounded better than begging Delta Dental to pay on a claim. It will be hard to replace her 10 years with us at the front desk. We miss her already and wish her the best.
The summer was great, but as we look forward to fall, we have some exciting news!
Stacey is expecting baby number two. She and her husband are very excited to become a family of four and can’t wait to meet their new addition. Stacey has been enjoying her summer getting ready to welcome baby boy/girl by spending time with her daughter, Taylor, relaxing at her cottage, and enjoying summer festivals. Stacey is taking eight weeks maternity leave but will be back to creating beautiful smiles. We all wish her and her new baby a healthy welcome into the world.
Starting this September, Dr. Leslie Clevenger will join our team working side by side with Dr. Witkowski and Dr. LJ. She graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Saint Joseph’s college in 2004. She then attended dental school at Indiana University School of Dentistry where she earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery in 2010. Dr. Clevenger is an exceptional general dentist with nine years of experience in family practice. She is proficient in all aspects of general dentistry and dedicated to providing compassionate, gentle care.
Throughout her career, Dr. Clevenger has completed numerous advanced training courses, CEREC training for same day crowns, Invisalign, implants and pediatric dentistry–just to name a few. Dr. Clevenger lives in Munster, Indiana, with her wife Corrie and their dog Bo. Outside of the office, she is an avid sports fan and enjoys cycling, working out and traveling. She looks forward to meeting all of you!
This summer we are also happy to announce Kinsey’s engagement! She got engaged to her boyfriend, Kevin, on August 4. They have been dating for two years, and he proposed while they were exploring St. Joseph, Michigan. Let us wish Kinsey a healthy and happy marriage!
Furthermore, in digital news we are launching a new website in September. You will now be able to make payments with our office, get care credit approval for treatment with the click of a button, explore videos in relation to specific procedures and make an appointment. The site is loaded with dental information ranging from when to bring your baby to his/her first dental visit to extensive dental procedures. We are confident you will be able to find information on what you’re researching on our new site. The updated photos were taken in Frankfort Square, and we very much enjoyed taking them to show you our Witkowski Dental team.
Finally, the renovation! Our office is undergoing a full office renovation this September, so please pardon our dust as you come in for your dental needs. Dr. LJ will be adding a new operatory, adding a 3D cone beam unit, as well as giving the entire office a new look. The new operatory will enable us to have an existing space to treat emergency patients the same day, as well as decrease wait times for patients. We pride ourselves in seeing dental emergencies as soon as possible to relieve pain.
The addition of a 3D cone beam is tremendous for our patients. This technology enables the doctor to see a clear and detailed 3D image of your teeth, bone and soft tissue surrounding your teeth. 3D images can present what a traditional 2-dimensional x-ray cannot. For example, it enables the doctor to see how close a wisdom tooth is to nerves in your jaw, whether your bone structure can support implant placement, or if you may have a tooth fracture. Having the technology in office will help improve diagnosis and expand treatment options.
We are very excited to share this wonderful news with you and look forward to having you come visit our new office and see the changes we’ve made. Thank you for being patient with us soon while we are undergoing our office renovation.
On a different note, we may be four months away from Christmas, but we should mention that Santa will be visiting the office again this year. We will also be accepting donations on behalf of the Flamini Foundation beginning November 1, 2019. More details regarding Santa’s visit and the Flamini Foundation will be shared in the next month or two.
Lastly, Dr. LJ’s gamble on a small company called Amazon a while back has finally paid off as he will be retiring with his family to the south of France where he will write children’s books and spy novels. We wish them the best. JUST KIDDING!! He will be here for the next 30 years, God willing, as he attempts to beat Dr. Wit’s record for longest tenure.
